Selection Process – SBI Clerk Recruitment

1. Preliminary Examination (Tier 1)

This is the first stage of the selection process. It is qualifying in nature, meaning the marks are not counted for final selection, but you must clear the cut-off to proceed to the Main Exam.

• All questions are multiple choice (objective type).

• The Prelims exam is conducted online.

• There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

2. Main Examination (Tier 2)

If you qualify the Prelims, you’ll be shortlisted for the Mains exam, which is crucial for final selection.

• All questions are objective (MCQs) and conducted online.

• 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

• There is no sectional cut-off, but overall marks will determine merit.
