RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment Educational Qualification

To be eligible, candidates must have passed the 10th standard or its equivalent examination under the 10+2 education system from a recognized board, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.
In addition, candidates must hold a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the relevant trade, issued by either the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
Note: Candidates who possess a National Trade Certificate in “Wood Work Technician” are also eligible to apply for the “Carpenter” trade.

RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment Age Limit

AgeMust have completed 15 years of age and not completed 24 years of age (as on the last date of acceptance of application).

Age relaxation:

  • 03 years for OBC-NCL candidates

RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment Selection Process

Candidates will be selected purely on a merit basis, meaning no written exam or interview will be conducted. The merit list will be prepared by calculating the average marks obtained in both the Matriculation (10th class) and ITI (Industrial Training Institute) examinations, with equal weightage given to each. It’s important that candidates have scored at least 50% marks in Matriculation to be considered.

Once the merit list is finalized, candidates equal to 1.5 times the total number of available apprenticeship slots will be called for Document Verification (DV). During this stage, candidates must present original copies of their certificates and documents for verification.

In case two or more candidates have the same average marks, the following tie-breaker rules will be applied:

  1. Older candidates (by age) will be given preference.

  2. If the date of birth is also the same, then the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be placed higher in the merit list.

All selected candidates must also be medically fit as per railway standards before final selection and training.

RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment Salary Scale

The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC-ER) has not specified any fixed salary or pay scale in the official Apprentice Recruitment 2025 notification. However, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend during the training period as per the norms set under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, which are updated from time to time by the Government of India.

The stipend amount may vary depending on the trade, location, and training duration, but generally ranges between ₹7,000 to ₹9,000 per month for most trades.
